M500

PROJECT SCOPE:

The M500 was designed to adapt to the load, not the other way around.

Most fleets respond to a new challenge with new equipment.
We asked a different question: what if the equipment could adapt instead?

The M500 is a modular transport system engineered to change configuration around the load. From oversized components to complex site conditions, it gives ARES the flexibility to develop the right transport solution for each project, using one adaptable platform.

M500 - Innovation

The M500 is ARES Group’s modular transport platform — a shared system of modular axles that adapts into
purpose-built configurations rather than requiring a new trailer for every new challenge. The same core
engineering underpins four configurations currently in service: a blade trailer built to extend as turbine blades grow longer, a heavy-duty modular system for the largest on-road moves, a drop bed that eliminates the need for a conventional beam set, and a vessel carrier engineered for tight, constrained site locations.

Each configuration solves a different transport problem. All of them are built on the same platform philosophy:
modularity first.

The Thinking Behind the Solution

The M500 was engineered to bridge that gap. Rather than applying a standard transport configuration to every load, we develop the setup around the specific dimensions and requirements of the client’s cargo, incorporating regulatory and route considerations from the outset.

This approach turns complex transport requirements into a practical, engineered solution, helping our clients save time, improve safety and make better use of their transport budget.

Project Challenges

  • 01

    01 | M500 Blade Trailer

Uungula Wind Farm Built on a fixed 4.0m-wide platform with a fully modular
extension system, running at 62 metres today with a fourth extension engineered to reach 75 metres. Deployed for
Squadron Energy, moving turbine blades 400km from the Port of Newcastle to site.

    02 | HD Modular

ACEN New England BESS Heavy-duty modules widening from 3.5m to 5.2m,
integrating with ARES’s 3.0m European modules and SPMT units for a combined capacity of 1,000 tonnes and
above. Moved a 244-tonne transformer 2,165km across two states for ACEN.

    03 | M500 Vessel Carrier

Uungula Wind Farm Built on a fixed 4.0m-wide platform with a fully modular
extension system, running at 62 metres today with a fourth extension engineered to reach 75 metres. Deployed for
Squadron Energy, moving turbine blades 400km from the Port of Newcastle to site.

    04 | M500 Dropbed

The M500 with Drop Bed transports transformers up to 200 tonnes, cutting gross mass by 150 tonnes and loading, travel, and unloading time by over 60%. It's also around 40% cheaper than traditional beam sets — a hard number to ignore.
Proven on the Uungula Wind Farm project for Squadron Energy, moving turbine blades 400km from the Port of Newcastle to site on a modular platform running at 62 metres, with room to extend to 75.
